I haven't been where I could post this. We have an '07 Chevy with the Duramax Allison combo at work. The truck has had problems when it's towing on the interstate of going into limp mode without warning. It's as if someone reached over and turned the key off in the center lane at 70. This is a pucker inducing experience. It will then limp along at 25 while I franticly work my way to the shoulder. Turning it off for 5 or 10 minutes seems to fix it for a while and after a couple of times it seems to run just fine. Our diesel truck guy has seen this before and explained that the high pressure fuel pump sucks fuel from the tank through the filter and if the filter isn't nearly perfect it can't pull quite enough through when demand is greatest. The computer senses a low fuel pressure reading and shuts it down He suggested a lift pump at the tank with 2 filters which we have installed now. We haven't made any trips with it yet so I can't say if it is the cure. Just sharing.

This story is about the day my Grandfather Brown (true name) decided along with my parents to purchase a new Ford tractor. It wasn't really new except to us. The year was about 1967 and my father found a good used Ford 601 tractor to use on the farm instead of "Bob", our old mule. Now my grandfather had had this mule since the mid 40's and he was getting some age on him. S
