Remember one thing: Unlike 20 years ago, ACDelco is no longer a manufacturer, they are just a relabeler. Take a look down the center hole of your PF47E and you will see that the center tube that holds the media has too large of openings. The oil hits the back side of the media and actually tears the media apart because the openings of the center tube are too big. A hunk of media, the exact same size as the rectangular opening of the center tube, then goes through the center hole of the filter and clogs up the oil passages in the engine. This filter is susceptible to this when the engine and the oil is cold, or when the oil pump is pumping an extreme amount of oil, as in the case of a high-revving Corvette. In my opinion, there are only aabout half as many length-wise center media supports that is actually needed and that's why the media blows out. The ACDelco PF47 (not the PF47E), is available at RockAuto.com. I typed in my zip code and priority mail will ship you up to 12 PF47 oil filters (at $3.05 each), for ~$12 shipping by priority mail. If you buy more than that, shipping goes to UPS ground which goes into a higher priced shipping category. Go to RockAuto.com and click on "part number search", then enter ACDelco as the manufacturer and PF47 for the part number. Type in your zip code for a shipping cost. The classic PF47 oil filters will have the old steel center tube.
