I'm in no way siding with you or against you on this. I live in the Center of KS where everything is still rural, big time. I have driven small to very large eqt down the 2 lane highways and gravel roads for years, and for the most part the people here still have rural roots and drive with that in mind.
Having said that, I never assume anything when it comes to driving down the road and trying to anticipate someones move. You don't know what the older lady was perceiving the situation was, or that maybe your old tractor had quit and was stuck in the middle of the road.
I have said this before on here, but when I do have to go on a higher traffic road, I want to try to know what every car in the state of Kansas is doing at that moment and not let someone get me into trouble. Even to the point that if I was going down the road getting ready to turn and noticed a car coming from behind, and one coming at me from the front, I may pull off the road to the right and wait until all traffic is clear. There is no room for error on big eqt because someone is liable to loose their life, and on small eqt, it could be even worse.
The fact that you admitted you glanced back over your shoulder lets it be known that you are still a cautious person, which is why you are able to be on here today complaining.
My thinking is that the roads were made for higher speed traffic. If I am on it with machinery, then I am the liability, not the high speed traffic, regardless if they are even competent to be driving or not. However, that is just my 2 cents. Different areas require different thinking I am sure. Lucky you are still here to tell us about it. Bob

It would be a great day for the collies and the terrier dogs, rats and mice would be at the bottom of the stacks so the dogs, would have a busy time hunting and killing, all the corn was gathered and ricked in what we c
