Simplicity and Ferris are similar mowers, both produced by Briggs and Stratton on (I think) the same line. Both have the unique independent suspension that gives them their smooth ride. Simplicity is the homeowner grade brand, while Ferris is more commercial. There's a bit of overlap between the two; the Ferris IS 2100Z is very similar to the Simplicity Cobalt. I would check out the Ferris models before buying a Simplicity.
I've had a Ferris IS 700Z for a little more than a year, and I've been very happy with it. It doesn't have as good of a suspension as the Cobalt or IS 2100Z, but it works well on my rough yard.
