The WC and the WD share a common block, only difference is in displacement and the fact that a WD has battery ignition as opposed to the magneto ignition on early WCs (later models had battery ignition, too). Should be just about an even swap, same as swapping small block Chevy engines, they are virtually identical. Only special tools would be an engine hoist. Good luck.
