I was in Home Depot couple of days ago looking for a dawn to dusk electric eye for one of my night lights. Finally found the box (large enough to hold a couple of dozen) and there was only 1, hiding just behind the front flap of the box....apparently got overlooked. I wanted 2. Summoned the clerk(s). Scanned the bar code and said that they had 7 in stock. Fine I want another. There were 3 clerks now and myself scanning the storage area above the racks....nar a one to be found.
After a bit I blurted out that well somebody must have stolen the other 6. One clerk answered in saying that you wouldn't believe what goes out that door unpaid and there isn't a thing we can do about it..........sad sad. The unit was 9 bucks x 6 on just this one item and that has to come out of profit that is attached to items for sale.
Thank goodness for China and other places of sort where folks can buy for pennies on the dollar and sell at a reasonable price......may be the only way they can stay in business.
