hit a farm store and get 10% permethren mix. mix it strong and spray the house. that will give you an immediate knockout.
fleas hatch weekly, so in 5 days, spray again, and finally in 5 days, spray again.
now.. if you have pets, bathe them in a flea shampoo or ( dogs only ) plain shampoo / dish soap, plus some of that permethren.
clean up their bedding.. if they stay ont he porch, get that loose hair out, clean porch.. pressure wash, etc.. then spray.
if you wash bedding.. put it in the dryer too.
yard: treat with some good pelletized granuale like triazacide. might have to hit it heavy, and then do it monthly.
that 10% mix spray can also be applied to the yard for immediate knockdown, it just won't last long.
Bayer makes a blue bottle product, a later gen form of an 'etheren' starts with a 'C' cyclo something. it's good on plants / yard, long knockdown power, but slow to get going. so I always mix the permethren with it and then spray it to get immetiate results, then long lasting.
once you treat yard with spray and granuales, wash pets, and preferably treat them with something, and treat house with spray... within 3 weeks you should be flea free, with a huge drop at day 2, and the other 2.9 weeks just being maintenance to pick up new hatches.
diatomatious earth is a good sprinkly for the pets.
there are other natural remedies that can be used around bedding and cages. clove oil, mint oil.. etc.
remember, cats don't tolerate the same permethren concentration as dogs.
use flea collers as per their recomendations. some cats and dogs don't do good with them.
bedding cleaning is a MUST.. smae with rugs
carpet is the worst..
there is a sprinkle in and vacume up flea powder.. if you have carpet.. I reccomend that.. or cattle / livestock dust sprinkled down and vac'd up ( good ventilation ).
