Back in the 50's, we had frost in August several times in ND. We'd have to shift gears and start cutting silage right away. That hasn't happened for many years now.
Fall was always my favorite time of the year in ND. The rush of harvest was over, but we were still pushing to get all the field work done before the snow came or the ground froze.
Here in AZ, fall seems to last just a couple of days and then we switch into winter. Only have a few days of spring and go right into the heat of the summer. But it never snows in our part of the desert.
