There is a huge show Sept. 11,12,13 in Lanesville Indiana. It is a small festival that has been going on for about 25 years. It started out with a couple of booths and 3 tractors. Now it has grown out os space. It is a good old country town type festival. It is called Lanesville Heritage Weekend. You can expect to see around 200+ tractors, 10-15 steam engines, 500+ gas engines, a working saw mill powered by steam engines, wheat thrashing on antique thrashing machines powered by steam engines and tractors, a antique rock crusher, a 3 day tractor & truck pull which I will guarantee is one of the top in the country for antique and modern farm tractors, there is a parade on Sat., a antique tractor and steam engine parade on Sun., mule & horse plowing-discing-etc. demonstrations, 200+ food, craft, & tool booths, plus rides for the kids. The best part of this is there is no admission fee. The only fees are foe the tractor pulls and rides. The pull is well worth the money. I know I am leaving things out. It is a great weekend. I have been all of the 20 years that I have been alive. This year will be the best for me, because this will be the first time I have ever got to show a tractor. I am getting to take my Farmall H and Farmall Cub. I can't wait. It is a great show and the demonstrations run all day long Saturday and Sunday. If you have never got to see a bunch of antique farm machinery in one place before you have to come and see. And you will want your camera or video recorder, I promise. I know this was long, but if anyone would like more information about this put up a post or e-mail me at tractor@aye.net Thank you for reading this and hope you will come. Maybe we can meet up and share some stories. Thanks. Bill

Today's Featured Article - Listening to Your Tractor - by Curtis Von Fange. Years ago there was a TV show about a talking car. Unless you are from another planet, physically or otherwise, I don’t think our internal combustion buddies will talk and tell us their problems. But, on the other hand, there is a secret language that our mechanical companions readily do speak. It is an interesting form of communication that involves all the senses of the listener. In this series we are going to investigate and learn the basic rudimentary skills of understanding this lingo. ... [Read Article]
