I've got a pasture that has a fescue problem (I think). If it wouldn't be so handy (and a relatives pasture) I wouldn't put cows in it. It's like a Bermuda triangle - something weird is always going on with cows that are there for a while.
Anyway, a bull was there for a bit here in the spring. I noticed that he had lost the switch on his tail so I pulled all of the cattle off and put him in the bull pen here at home. That's been probably June first or so. I don't know for sure that fescue foot is the problem, but his isn't the first switch that has come off from that pasture. There's something there.
I know that fescue foot starts in extremities and hits the tail, the ears, and then the feet. Anyone know what it does to fertility? I'm going to be cranky if it nuked his nertz. He's an awfully good bull and he is needed again around Thanksgiving. His ears and feet are fine.
