If you are lucky.....the PTO has a 1/4 dia. pin in it. Take your mower off and take a look at things in there. It is dirt simple. As you rotate the leaver you will see that the "dog" should move in and out about 3/8 of an inch. If not take out the two bolts and see what is broken. What happens is people take out that engage lever and they drop the little block into the front casting. You most likely will find it laying in the gunk in the bottom in front of your nose. There should be one!!! Because if there is not one the 1/4 hardened pin gets ground off and now you need to replace that. I used a 1/4 drill bit to make a new one then put everything back together with that little block that rides in the groove around the engagemnet dog. While you are at it, check the teeth on the dog. They should be nice and square with no rounded edges where they engage. Also take a look at the clutch on your mower. The Ramps should be in the shape of little triangles with a nice sharp end and not all ground down. Have done several machines. Have fun.
