No, you will no be able to see the oil from fill plug on top of transmission. The oil level check plug for the final drive and transmission (all in same housing) is on left side below clutch pedal. The 450 has two plugs, one closer to front of tractor. Same level of oil when tractor is standing level. The idea of that front plug was if you were doing stationery pto or belt pulley work for extended period, you were supposed to fill to the level of that front plug. Forget about that. Your hydraulic reservoir on F450 has a dip stick. Engine has dip stick or oil level petcocks on side. A max and min level. Pto has level plug, but if you have a fast hitch, cyl is in the way, so just take out breather and gauge level with a suitable tool (stick, wire or what ever). The 450 needs HY tran or equiv for hydraulic, pto, and transmission and final drive. M can use Hy tran in transmission but they tend to leak a lot, and 89 - 90 gear lube works out better.
