I don't have water proof boots so when it's wet where I'm going, after I put my socks on, I wrap my feet in plastic grocery store bags and then put my boots on. My feet stay nice a dry all day. If it's cold and wet enoough for two pair of socks, I put the bag between the layers of socks. An extra positive with this is the bags get an additional use before heading to the local landfill.
