Shipments on all package and LTL routes are loaded same day in the early morning hours, That is how we offer next day service. Pick it up in town A today. Load it in a road trailer this evening. Haul it to town B overnight. Unload and load on a city unit in the AM Deliver in that day.
But you got what you paid for. UPS may work on Saturday but Saturday is NOT a normal delivery day. It's what the call a Value-Added Service and cost extra.
You pay enough money and you can stuff delivered on Christmas Eve.
