One of my high school classmates is 61 like me. He had a younger brother who was into drugs and such, and this brother had a daughter. My friend's brother straightened up his life, and was back on the straight and sober path when he died from a sudden heart attack.
His daughter--her name was Samantha, and she's the same age as my daughter, who called her "Satan"-- had two kids out of wedlock and decided she didn't want to be bothered with raising them. So my friend and his wife went to court, and he adopted his brother's grandkids. The kids are in grade school now, but my friend's worried that, with heart problems in the family--he had his own heart attack about 10 years ago--he may not live to see them raised.
But what else do you do with your family, other than the best you can?

The year was about 1967 and my father found a good used Ford 601 tractor to use on the farm instead of "Bob", our old mule. Now my grandfather had had this mule since the mid 40's and he was getting some age on him. S
