I'm on Verizon, also, and it's been basically flawless. Like Hammers said, though, they're quick to add overage charges. They don't slow down or interrupt service if you exceed your plan, they just tack $15 onto your monthly bill for every gig of use over your plan. Depending on how much you use, it can be cost effective to increase your plan.
I've also found it helps to shop different Verizon stores. The local people make a big difference. I have one small town store I like because the people are helpful, personable, and don't try to sell you anything you don't need. Verizon stores in larger cities seem to be nothing more than assembly lines to sell you twice (or more) what you want or need. The three Verizon stores in Lincoln, NE make high pressure car dealers look like amateurs.
And, speaking of Lincoln, the Better Business Bureau office in Lincoln says they have so many complaints about Verizon they can't handle them there, they ship them off to a big BBB facility in New Jersey.
But, right now Verizon is my best option so I've learned to play their games.
