I agree they should not be flown in airspace that real airplanes are in.
But, really, how much worse is a small hobby drone as a hazard than a pigeon or duck or mid size bird to a regular aircraft? A drone is a couple lbs of plastic, wires, micro chips, and a battery, with a few very small bits of metal here and there. Battery is about the only real heavy, hazard part, and everything is as small and light as possible.
Is the threat really that big?
But clearly, big or small threat, drone owners shouldn't be flying where real aircraft is, I get that. Its just, what are the odds of anything bad happening to the real plane in a collision?
As to spying on networks, well. Anyone can drive down your street and do the same thing, using a drone for that would mean the spy is limited to about 15 minutes of network snooping, kinda silly, when you can park your car on the street and spy for hours..... Seems this is a blown up fake story that doesn't amount to anything real. That would be about the dumbest use of a drone for no good.....
