I went to college at UNL at the time of the great teams. I grew up sitting in the combine or driving the truck listening to the games. I moved to Texas for a short time during the Pelini error...I mean era. 9 wins a year is great, but even the Texas fans felt sorry for us and the way he acted (Not enough to not poke a lot of fun when we got blown out). It's hard to see the team miss out on some wins that they should have had this year, but I would take any coach over Pelini. Is Mike Riley the answer, probably not, but I'll give him a couple of years to see if he can turn things around. We've lost 5 games by a total of 13 points and a lot of heartbreak. Hopefully we can get a little closing power down the stretch. I just think our teams haven't had that killer instinct that the old teams had. I don't think Riley and his guys have a mean bone in their bodies, and Pelini was just a head case. Hopefully we can get some talent put together and get a young hungry coach in there soon.
