Noticed racoon tracks trying to get in my shop door. Set the live cage wire trap. Checked the trap and guess what. There is a skunk in the trap. How do you get rid of the skunk without being sprayed. Could shoot it. But I am sure it will let loose. Trap is big enough that it can lift it's tail. What NOW.
I Got a long pole with a hook, dragged it away from the shop, no problem. Got a tarp slowly covered trap and lifted it on tailgate of truck. Still OK Drove out to a bush about a mile from yard.Wind had blown tarp off. Now what to do. Got a long stick from bush hooked it in trap pulled it off tailgate. Still no smell. So decided to shoot while skunk was in trap. Wrong idea Shot it in the head . Did it ever let loose . Got out of there real fast. Will come back and try to retrieve trap another day. Should of taken advice to shoot it in backbone , but received that advice to late. Know what to do next time. Thanks for all the advice.
