I grew up in the country, about five miles from the small town we considered "ours". There was a chicken processing plant there, the primary employer in the area. One day my aunt and uncle stopped back by our house after going to town. We were all sitting on the front porch talking when we noticed a chicken pecking around beside my uncle's pickup. We had chickens but we knew it wasn't one of ours, so we determined it was an escapee from the chicken plant who had smuggled himself out underneath my uncle's truck. If it thought it had reached safety at our place, it was badly mistaken. Yum!
