Interesting you say #1000 was scrapped. A fella a few years ago said the 1st H built was a in a basket in Iowa?? He had heard John Deere had offered this guy $25,000 for it 25 years ago. Yes I know about the first 104 or so that were recalled. J.R. Hobbs had a nice article about that a few years ago. I believe there was one in the museum at Davenport a few years ago that still had it's original tag and I think it was #1017. So this one must not have been brought in for crankshaft replacement??
