A buddy gave my son an old Skidoo snowmobile years ago, about a 6 inch wide piece was broken/ gone where the hood met the gas tank, probably about 14 inches long. I heated up parts of old bug shields and got them shaped like the other side and used some kind of body shop glue to hold it together. Had the body shop paint it blue and put some purple flames on it, looked like new till you looked under the hood.
