Sams on certain things cant be beat. Worth it. Walmart and Sams are examples of capitalism at its best.
People are STUPID to expect walmart to pay its employees more that mom and pop stores that they compete with, BUT THEY DO. They dont pay rocket scientist wages, but do pay better than the same business models they compete with. No local grocery story or local hardware store will pay more than Walmart. No local grocery store or hardware store pay stockers 60 bucks an hour, but instead hire high school kids to work after school. So despite all the jokes and wifes tales they give a better product at a cheaper price and carry the same items as the guys who sold it a full list price. To many small towns had the filthy rich store owners and impoverished peasants till walmart came along. Now people will drive 50 miles to go to walmart to save $200 per trip. And if your against saving $200 a week with a big family and no money, then you simply go right ahead and shop at the rip off places. In America, the large grocery store models operate off of the lowest margin of any other business model around due to size and volume. (around 2%) If you have a problem with that your an idiot. Yes, the small stores have to operate on a 20% markup or higher. The dollar stores are the new model for the local mom and pop stores and slowly gaining ground for "quick need items" but you pay dearly for the convenience. Then you have the "gas station" models that are even higher yet.
