I have had dog owners that rented a home near us . The dog would chase my heifers, and I would do just like you , go talk to the folks, tell them that their dog could end up dead if they didn't look after him. Another neighbour shot the dog one day , and told me he had , as it was after his cows,I thought , good. Problem solved, wrong. When the dog didn't show up after a few days , dog owners came after me for killing their dog, but I didn't need too, though I had implied that I would. These folks were kind of low life type and didn't pay the rent and got the boot soon after, but I learned , never give any warning to dog owners that will let their dog run your cattle, just shoot the dog like a brush wolf , and bury it , and say nothing. If dog owners don't care enough about their dog to keep them home and safe ,why should the rest of us ?
