It's fairly easy to add a bar under the tongue ahead of the main frame and relocate some of the shanks to that front bar to give more clearance between shanks in the main frame. Sometimes framework bracing gets in the way of spacing the shanks the way they really should be but it does clear more trash after the job is done. I did that with my 24 foot Glencoe. It was a little newer model than the one in the pic but the same general arrangement.
