I had friends whose Sheppard would fly out of the backyard through the gate of their privacy fence the second that it would open, every single time, and down the road it would go. OK, I stood behind the open gate once for them as my buddy let the dog out, his wife wanted nothing to do with such meanness. Out came the dog bounding for the gate, up to the gate in stride...WHAM!!!, face full of gate, and down it went. It got up, turned and started away, gate opened, and it turned and didn't learn its lesson. It did the second time that mean old gate just flattened it...WHAM!!!, another face full of slamming gate and down it went. It never neared that mean old gate ever again, and lived a happy long healthy life until old age finally got it. Moving cars and trucks are far more harmful and deadly, so...
