We rented one last year on holidays in Texas because we were planning on purchasing one. Good car, a much more pleasant vehicle to drive than the 2007-20013 Impalas, and they were a very good dependable car. We did purchase a 2014 Impala Lt--demonstrater with only 2000 miles (3500 km) It has the 4 cylinder engine, Navigation pkg, leather, satellite radio, collision avoidance system, etc., I think all options except sunroof. The driver info/enteraintment package is somewhat intimidating with the amt. of info on it, but really quite simple to navigate. You just have to sit down with the owner's manual and get aquainted with it. The Nav. system is also very good, and has povern very handy and easy to use in many situations. One may think the collision avoidance system is a bit much, but it does make you a better driver by alerting you to the small errors one does make. I really like it because----my wife always accused me of drifting out of my lane because I 'crop tour' too much. So, we set the system up in the Impala and drove to London --60 miles--where our kids go to University. I drove about 20 miles and was warned 4 times by the system that I was drifting. "See" said my wife " I told you so." She then drove the next 20 miles and it beeped 8 times at her. Vindication was sweet!! Gas mileage is slightly better than our 2011 Impala averaging 7.5 liters per 100 km or about 38 miles per Imperial gallon--33 US. The six cylinder engine would give better performance with little extra fuel consumption according to tests, and would likely be the only thing I would change. The 4 offers more than adequte performance for our needs--indeed, worked effotlessly with 5 people and full luggage in the car at freeways speeds on a very hot day and still delivered over 44 miles/gallon.
I do not think you will be dissappointed; our dealer was/is very good to us and we would certainly consider another one. Our middle girl was in a very serious crash with our 2011 Impala --hit a big tractor broadside at 50 mph and had only seat belt/air bag abraisions. I was impressed/relieved enough that we replaced her car with another 2011 Impala.

Today's Featured Article - A Question for Dads This recent topic from the Tractor Talk discussion board is being highlighted because it is an awesome display of the caliber of individuals that have made this site their own. The young person asking questions received positive feedback and advice from total strangers who "told it like it is" with the care many reserve for their own kids. The advice is timeless... so although it isn't necessarily antique tractor related, it will be prominently displayed in our archives to honor those who have the courage to ask and those who have the courage to respond in an honest, positive manner.
