As is known Im a life long cubs fan. Die hard till the end, win or lose its cubbie blue. I saw Ernie Banks on tv hundreds of times. He seemed to good to be true. I never got to meet Mr Cub but at a autograph session he was at i grabbed chair about 10 feet from him and I just sat, watched and listened. I was in awe. He enjoyed talking about his career but he LOVED talking with kids and hearing their stories and give little bits of advice while smiling and laughing out loud. He would pose for pics with them and ask all about their experiences. He was truely what he appeared to be. He was a true gentleman and a great spokesman for his team. bill

There is no known history regarding its origins or what service it had done, but the following work was undertaken alone to bring it up to show standard.
