How big is your bushhog? I run a 7 foot 3 rotor JD507 with my MF65, and in thick, tall green grass it will struggle. I have to shift down to 2 low to get through it with the rpm up where it should be. Your governor linkage might need a little adjustment. Mine needed a little tinkering after breakin from overhaul a couple years ago. Good luck : I have used my MF65 for most of this year doing box blade and dirt scoop work with no problems. However I cut my pasture with this tractor for the first time today. While running the tractor in the 1500 to 1800 RPM range while cutting grass, the tractor would sometimes lose RPMs when entering an especially thick patch of grass although this grass was only several feet high in these areas. The tractor would drop down to about 1000 RPMS and then return to the preset RPMS as soon as the bushhog cleared that thick area. Now I know some of you might suggest a governor problem. But I am not sure that would be the case because I sensed that the governor was operating correctly and holding the RPMs in moderate grass. Maybe all of this is normal but I just kind of assumed that a 47HP tractor could bushhog grass as tall as the tractor and have no problems doing it. Also I guess it is possible I had the bushhog set too low as this was the first time I had ever attached a bushhog to the tractor, but I don't think so. Also I don't believe it is a fuel or ignition problem. The tractor starts first crank everytime and runs perfectly. Compression is good and it doesn't smoke or burn a bit of oil. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!
