I believe I am too. Years back when working up in northern NY, in a sparsely populated area, on a correctional facility project, I tried bowling for some recreation, but the fog of cigarette smoke was overwhelming. I ended up with really bad nose bleeds, sinus infections that would produce multi-color sheets of...... (no need to go further with that LOL). I realized then what it was. One evening in a place like that and it caused serious health problems for me. I quite bowling, and it was fun, but every single person in there smoked like feigns or addicts, the alleyway area was a total fog.

I eventually had one of these events where the nose bleed would not stop, not long after I was off that project and in NYC working. Was bent over looking in a file drawer, it let loose and would not stop. Girl in the office was in a panic when she saw me bleeding profusely, it soaked my shirt and I had tried to stop it. 10th precinct patrol car arrived, they got me into the back and I went for a ride with all the bells and whistles going to St Vincents Hospital. I am still thankful today for their help. Doc said you basically burst a small artery or something in there. ER had packed my nose like a cannon, I then walked many blocks to a specialist who then took me in as an emergency and cauterized it. I followed up with cat scans, never could figure out what it was, always blamed 2nd hand smoke, (no other habits, one I can think of that people snort)I still get them from further in, during the winter when the air is really dry, and cigarette smoke outside makes me cringe. We are fortunate that its outlawed in public places, some it does not bother, me I hate it with a passion and will do whatever necessary to get away from it. Long time friend buys tobacco, rolls his own, not a heavy smoker, that is tolerable, believe it or not, but any other kind bought in a store in packs, they just reek of burnt plastic to me.

Today's Featured Article - Restoration Story: Fordson Major - by Anthony West. George bought his Fordson Major from a an implement sale about 18 years ago for £200.00 (UK). There is no known history regarding its origins or what service it had done, but the following work was undertaken alone to bring it up to show standard. From the engine number, it was found that this Major was produced late 1946. It was almost complete but had various parts that would definitely need replacing. ... [Read Article]
