Good point, I've avoided financing for quite awhile at different times, no credit cards in years etc. When I needed it, the interest rate was up, and I paid it, paid the loan off, credit rating was great after too. I immediately financed something I've needed for a very long time, a newer tractor. Its a very low payment and good rate this time, and its just to keep some kind of credit active. It could not have been at a better time, as one loan was paid, I went for note on this tractor, so there's no gap.
I now have to diversify to further increase my score and go for other forms of credit. So I'll get a card, use it for something within the budget, just paid a different way.
One of the reasons the above is important is I have an opportunity on some valuable land, now is the time and I sure am glad I am prepared a lot more than I was, when I did everything cash.
As long as you manage your affairs and I would think it no trouble for you, its good advice, someday you may need that financing on something, good to be ready if you do.
PS: I don't care for payments either, but...... LOL !

There is no known history regarding its origins or what service it had done, but the following work was undertaken alone to bring it up to show standard.
