So the check trans light if it on steady indicates the control module has received none or multiple shift signals. This is the same as a single flash... Four flashes are a bad powerahift solenoid. Six flashes no clutch pressure...
Not sure if you have checked for a bad ground or not, that would be my first check/fix, otherwise it is possible that the shift controller is playing up, its under the powerahift lever, has a mechanical linkage to it unless you have a very later model that may have a rocker switch for the powershift on the range shifter.
