I used to save my receipts in boxes then try to find one when I was looking for it. A friend gave me an idea that works really well. Most of us have cell phones nowadays and many have smart phones to make life easier. On my phone I have an application that acts like a scanner and there are many in the app stores for free. I simply take a picture of a receipt and save it to the scanner. Then I upload it to Google Drive and put it in a file folder there. You can create file folders called things like, household, farm, tractors, feed, utilities etc. You can name the file folders anything you want and store all your receipts there.Once you have the photos saved you can throw away the paper receipt and forget saving them since you have a digital copy of them. From the file folders you can print them if needed. I've found that most stores will allow this kind of receipt in case you have to return an item. Also if you notice, most of the receipts you get nowadays will after a time lose the print on the receipt. I used to carry them in my pocket or checkbook and when I cleaned them out the print had faded away. Now as soon as I get the receipt I take a picture of it and toss the paper receipt. Sure works good for me and once it's on Google Drive it's on my computer and in the cloud as well. Again, once it's saved you can print it, send it or delete it. It's easy and sure saves time and headaches when it come to finding a receipt. Do any of you use this for record keeping? If not, think about it and try it, I think you'll like it.
