What you are seeing and they are calling fog lights are in actuall reality driving lights and not fog lights. A true fog light has a yellow-amber color to the light and they do work if adjusted correctly but you can only find them as aftermarket and then still some of the companys call there driving lights fog lights. Those built in lights the beam is designed for distance, and that white light just reflects off the fog, the good yellow bean does not reflect off the fog. Yes there were some true beam designed clear fog lights that the beam was designed to be at least 5-6 times as wide as it is high. But they would still reflect off the fog but they did not when adjusted correctly hit the fog at any higher than 2' from ground.. Those things they sell as fog lights are nonadjustable and set on the samy plane as your high beams, a correctly adjusted fog light will be on same plane as your low beams. The Dodge truck I had they would only turn on with the high beams and turn off when you went to low beam, I think they changed that to stay on wether low or high beam. And a good properly adjusted proper fog light will tripple your ability to see. But then when they do the good is atspeeds below 40 MPH, those things they call fog lights are designed to supposedly help you see at 65MPH.
