: I'm running a 1965 David Brown 770 on 20 acres in the UK. Great little tractor. Are there any out there in the USA?? 770 is very rare. In our neck of the woods, there were 880"s and 990's by the dozen for a while. At the time they were cheap, and a fully optioned 880 could be had for less than a stripped MF 35. As long as they were carefully maintained and carefully operated, they worked fine. The thing is, a 990 was said to have 55 hp, and that put it in the same league as the like of a John Deere 3010, AC 170, or a Farmall 656. David Browns suffered badly by comparison for sheer guts and durability. The model 1200 drove people away from David Browns by the hundred and the Case 1690 which was two 880 blocks end to end have not done well around here. Good handy tractors but do not push them hard, ever. Tom.
