my thoughts aren't mileage based or anything other than owner experience I own a 98' Dodge cab and chassis with a little over a million miles and I have owned ford and Chevy trucks in the meantime ,I paid 28000 for the dodge brand new and have spent several thousand keeping it going this far but hasn't been the trouble or expensive that the others had the ford was an 08 and the first motor at 37000 miles and the second shortly after 80000 . Then before that a couple chevys both nice but cp3 pumps and injectors were just killer so I think a man that has a cummins should keep it and a man that don't have a one ton should buy an older gas burner unless wealthy and has plenty of money to throw around . I am driving a Toyota as an everyday driver and don't want people to think that a man with a cub or l&g type tractor needs a one ton but some of us have larger toys and work that calls for something heavier as I do , fertilizer carts and large hay wagons don't do well behind Toyota's they normally require a heavy truck .
