I am trying to use my Miller Bobcat to run a blower motor on a bin with no luck. The motor will spin when turned on but not like it should. When I plugged it in at home it sounded like a jet engine spinning up, and it really moved some air, but when I try to run it off the welder it only turns at maybe 1/4 speed. The welder is putting out 240v, and isnt tripping any breakers when the motor is turned on. Also when the motor is turned on the engine grunts for just a second, and then recovers. The reason I mention this,is because when burning a 5/32 rod it makes the engine work a little, and i would think that running a 5hp electric motor should to? Do I have welder trouble, did my start capacitor crap out, or something else? Any help would be appreciated!
