Shoot this is a small world. My daughter and husband have a 40+ acre place just NE of the 133 and I44 intersection. Their drive way is the 1st one East of the crappy truck stop. We visit there once a year. Being as I come south through Camdenton and go through Lebonon with the 5th wheel trailer, I am probably just a cat's wisker away from both of you guys. I was totally blown away to see the old Gasconade bridge (just a bit south of the I44 bridge)closed off last summer, meanwhile some really crappy swinging suspension bridges in a state park allowed PU trucks to cross. With dozens of wires in each suspension cable broken and badly frayed, I was very concerned about even walking across. But if the I44 bridge over the Gasconade is under water, then the old iron truss bridge next to it is probably in serious trouble. As to this weather event, daughter's roof decided to leak badly, so I recommended covering it with tarps and holding them down with old tires. Now, if that ain't red neck! They sent me the picture of the roof, tarps, and 24 tires. Sure enough, I could have given them more tires, but getting them there would be impossible. They shut off electricity in the north side of the house because of all the water pooling up in the ceiling light fixtures and ceiling fans. They were concerned about possible electrical shorts causing fire. I guess I taught her something that stuck when needed.
I'm wishing all you folks in that area the best of luck in getting your homes and animals back into safe conditions. Above all, stay safe!
