Dis-connect the hydraulic cylinder, & the 3pt will lower by gravity. The rotating rockshaft on the tractor will remain in the up position all the time without weight on it . If the Cylinder is attached the fluid will take the path of least resistance. This makes running a semi mount plow a problem because if more weight is on the cylinder the 3pt will come up first, & vice-versa. Also makes raising both the 3pt, & cylinder at the same time impossible. If pulling anything with a cylinder, & nothing on the 3pt arms; the arms will always fall after the trailed item falls, & raise before the trailed item raises.
To regulate the drop rate... Bottom of Hydraulic Housing is a nut that is abnormally long with a jamnut (called a throttle valve screw). Loosen it, & screw in to increase flow, & screw out to decrease flow. the tighten the jamnut when set!
If You don't have a manual... Its well worth the money. They don't make them like they used to is more true now than ever before!!!

I’d probably plowed about 3000 acres (in my head anyway) by the time they found me. This is where my love for tractors started and has only gotten worse in my tender 50 yrs on this “green planet”.
