yep ,,. we used to do taters in the fireplace as kids ,, then when my kids were in their teens did it again ,, started showing my sara from SICILY how to eat culture food ,. lol ,,. I cut the skin on the tatey about a quarter inch or so in a spiral around that big rascal ,,. wrap it in plenty enuf foil with a triple slab of butter to aid baking ,,. place that on a nice bed of red hot coals,, after 15 minutes roll them over ,, but don't loose the butter,, , another 10 minutes and generally they are done ,,. the more ya do ,, the better you will get at baking them ,,. my bros and I liked putting a atrip of bacon in the foil with the tater . just simple good living on a cold winter nite,.
