I know whatcha mean about no rattles. Back in 2009 every time I went to the barber shop I noticed a red IH 1600 loadstar (1974 model) sitting beside a mans house, never was moved or driven. The barber said the old man would buy but never ever sell anything however he was sick and not doing well. I would ask about the truck often when getting my hair cut, in the summer of 2010 I found out the man died and his wife and son had to sell his equipment to pay some debts. After several people said I would never buy the truck I did buy it in September of 2010, made an offer of $800 and got it. It needed little stuff done to it and needed paint, had a good 14' dump bed with a harsh hoist. The speedometer wasn't working when I got it so I have no idea on the miles but it is like yours, no rattles and everything works good on it. Funny thing is that it drives and rides as good as my pickup, it has been to Tennessee and all over town. I still use it often to haul stuff and help a guy cut silage every year. Sometimes persistence pays off!!
