I had a TI99-4A. If I remember it had a total of 16 bytes of RAM. Anything you did on it was lost when it was turned off unless you copied it to a cassette...which was pretty inefficient. It played some great games though. I was still in college at the time and worked midnight shift at the Holiday Inn. We had a closed network of computers installed at some point that was called the Holidex system. The original Holidex was a modified IBM Selectric typewriter that worked like a teletype. The new one was much nicer. We could talk to other clerks all around the globe using something called an ADMIN (administrative message) that we would type in and send. Kind of like an email. All of this was ten years before I had real email thru AOL. It was all old hat to me by then and to this day I am still not a techno junkie like so many folks. Just another tool.
