Yes I well remember that old one room school house. The teacher was Mrs. Wilcox an ugly old woman and she could run the place. No kids ever gave her any @#$%. She was strong and would get a hand full of hair and double slap the tripe out of you with the other hand. Yes sir she ran the place. We had a wood stove and back houses and a well we carried water from in a white enamel bucket. We all drank out of the same dipper and not one of us ever died from it. Went to town later to the central school ,We had it better in the country school. I rode to school in town on a 1941 Brockway Buss. I still remember it. Yes I also remember getting on the bus with a 22 rifle so I could go home with another boy and shoot wood chucks on his dad's farm. Try that now, LOL Yes the old school house fell down now. They were better times even with old lady Wilcox as teacher.

There is no known history regarding its origins or what service it had done, but the following work was undertaken alone to bring it up to show standard.
