Illinois started this card thing back in about 1970 or so. I quit hunting in about 1975 so I let it expire, then about 1990 I wanted to do a little trapping again and carry a pistol so got another card and that expired in 2000. Was looking over my ammunition stock pile today and found 2or3 birdshot shells, ten or so long rifles and another 10 or so shorts plus a few 20 ga. slugs. Can't put up much of a fight with that mess. I bought those slugs in the mid 60s, only time I went deer hunting and only took one slug for my deer.
