Seems the grandmother can pass damaged eggs to her child. According to this article, all the eggs a woman will produce are formed during development in the womb. If the mother is participating in any activity that is harmful to the developing child, or even gets sick with certain diseases, then those damaged eggs are with the child until she is of age to reproduce. Then in turn, her children can possibly suffer the consequences...
I also believe a lot of children are misdiagnosed as being ADHD, Autistic, Downs, the list goes on... But in reality the mother is in denial about alcohol and drug use during pregnancy! Even a lot prescription and over the counter drugs are now being found to cause birth defects.
Some get off to a sad start, no fault of their own!
