I've never bought a lottery ticket and plan is to never buy one. Many people who have come into a large amount of wealth by lottery winnings have ultimately been ruined by it. I got to thinking about how one could avoid that. Give it all away. Thought about giving it to churches. No, that would not work. Church members would get into arguments as to how it should be used. Churches would be divided and split up, so not a good idea. Give it to your county government with stipulation that gift was to pay every citizen's real estate taxes each year for as long as funds would last. Results = No tax in ------- County would cause population explosion in county by drawing in new residents wanting no tax to pay. County government officials would become giddy with big money plans and go on spending sprees building lavish new schools, gov't buildings, new cars for sheriff dept. garbage trucks, etc. Money ruins county....bad idea again. Better off not to win big lottery, just stay poor.
