If the nation wanted to truly honor Martin Luther King today, they should have all the black kids stay in school and all the white kids stay home. Same with the banks, post offices and gov. agencies etc. All the black people go to work and all the white people stay home (without pay). After all isn't this what it's all about? The blacks getting ahead? A better education and making more money? Yes I'm being sarcastic but really??? What good is it doing the country to shut down the schools and public services another day (of many such worthless holidays) ???? How is this benefiting anyone black or white or brown, yellow or red for that matter???? I have a feeling I don't want you to answer that as I don't want to start a political thing here but maybe something for you all to think about today while government employees are at home but still getting paid. As far as school kids staying home on account of cold, I think they ought to just call off grade school and junior high if they think its too dangerous to be out. Around here, all the high school kids drive themselves anyway and when school gets called off they all head to town and hang out at the mall or Wal-mart anyway so they just as well be at school since they're all on the road out in the weather anyhow. My mother rode a bare back horse doubled up with her brother two and a half miles across a treeless windswept Dakota prairie to go to country school and survived winter weather just fine so I think these kids today should be able to handle -20 in their pickups and SUVs the 5 or 10 miles they travel today. He11, most of them live within the city limits and they can't make it to school??? Good grief!!! If your 80 years old and can't stay warm because of poor circulation or don't dare walk on ice or snow for fear of falling and breaking bones then stay home. Otherwise this nation needs to get back to church, get back to work and get back to school and quit whining and screwing around being a drag on society. Rant over!!!

Today's Featured Article - Restoration Story: Fordson Major - by Anthony West. George bought his Fordson Major from a an implement sale about 18 years ago for £200.00 (UK). There is no known history regarding its origins or what service it had done, but the following work was undertaken alone to bring it up to show standard. From the engine number, it was found that this Major was produced late 1946. It was almost complete but had various parts that would definitely need replacing.
