: I have a Johnston No.9 horse drawn 5' sickle bar : mower made in Batavia, NY. Can anyone give me : any information on this mower (years, colors, etc...)? :Jeff: You have got a real antique. Johnston Harvester Co. was bought out by Massey-Harris in 1910, So Johnston as a separate name was probably gone latest by 1915. Located in Batavia, apparently they made a very good line of binders, rakes, discs, mowers, etc. Massey built their Clipper combines there and I think that Agco is still there using the place as one of their main parts warehouses. Sorry could not do better for you for info, but I think you may have to get to a couple of steam shows and see if you can hunt up some better info. Good luck. Tom.
