We don't have fear of snow. Just try and be prepared. In my area VDOT doesn't touch a secondary road till it stops snowing. That's fine for a 6-8 in. snow. Foot or more and drifting have been blocked in for days. 1962 our roads were blocked for 7 days. Had drifts 10 and 12 ft. in places. VDOT had to contract crawlers to open the road on day 8. They took out fences and mail boxes because they couldn't see them. VDOT had nothing that would move snow like that back then.
Just don't like hearing about folks with health problems blocked in and can't get help if needed fast.
Forcast this morning says snow changing to sleet and back to snow. Most of the time our snows are wet and heavy anyway. add ice or sleet and things come down to the ground fast.
