My chargers are old and one is both 6 or 12 volt, 30 year old, no timer, and if it was turned to 6 volt and not realized it was on 6 volt and hooked to 12 volt battery. Then if I would just hook up a old 50's style 6 volt charger to 12 would it do any good, needing to try to bring back to life some 12 volt batteries. Thought if it would do anything get them started to come up and finnish with the 12 volt unit. Some may be 100% dead even tho have never been used. Batteries are out, not hooked to anything.

After two summers of having to park my old 1964 model 4000 gas 4 cyl. on a hill just in case the 6 volt system, for whatever reason, would not crank her, I decided to try the 12 volt conversion. After some research of convert or not, I decided to go ahead, the main reason being that this tractor was a working tractor, not a show tractor (yet). I did keep everything I replaced for the day I do want to restore her to showroom condition.
